這個活動的目的是為了慶祝香港基督教青年會總部在梳士巴利道開幕100周年, 並為100名社區的小朋友帶來愛與夢想的實現，藉此燃點他們的希望，利用被丟棄的玩具創造自己的聖誕樹，並體驗節日的喜悅。所有作品將在香港基督教青年會總部及其各個社區中心展出。
活動同時旨在喚起大眾對玩具棄置問題的關注。去年聖誕節的活動中，於大堂展示由商界及社區人士合力製作的24棵環保聖誕樹，製作的物料主要是由回收後不整全及不能轉贈的玩具製作而 成，活動所籌得的款項用作支持青少年事工及社區服務工作！去年活動非常成功，一個月的展期中，吸引很多港人及遊客來臨參觀，更有幸獲得無線新聞部進行採訪及報導，讓更多人關注玩具棄置的環保議題。
2024年「有意義聖誕樹100」活動所籌得的款項將會為參與活動的小朋友舉辦聖誕聯歡活 動，一同慶祝耶和華的誕生，就像衪的降臨帶給世人歡欣與希望，讓每位小朋友都能感受同等的喜悅。 正如基督降生為世界帶來喜悅和希望一樣都能體驗到同樣的節日氣氛和快樂。

Riding on last Christmas’ success, and as part of the YMCAHK Centennial Celebration of the Salisbury Road Grand Opening, and to bring love and fulfill the dreams of 100 children from our beneficiary families, they will participate in creating their own Christmas trees by using disposed toys and experience the joy of the season. All the creations will be showcased at the YMCAHK’s headquarters and its community centres.
This initiative aims to raise public awareness about giving disposed toys a second life. Last December, a total of 24 Christmas trees made from disposed toys were displayed at the YMCA Headquarters, with the funds raised supporting youth programmes and community services. The event was a great success, attracting many members of the public and tourists. It was also covered by TVB News, helping to spread the message about the environmental issue of toy waste.
As the birth of Christ brings joy and hope to the world, this year, the funds raised from the initiative will be for organising of a Christmas celebration for all the participating children and volunteers, so that each child is able to experience the festivity and delight of the season.
